1 Thessalonians

This is the first of two letters to believers in Thessalonica

These letters were likely the first letters Paul wrote probably written from Corinth, where he abode a "long time" (Acts 18:11, 18), about A.D. 52.

This first letter was as a result of Timothy’s visit to Thessalonica and his report to Paul on the state of the church there. Although the general message from Timothy was encouraging, it also showed that some errors and misunderstandings of Paul’s teaching had developed. He addresses them in this letter with the view to correcting these errors.
