The Gospel record of John explains to us the purpose and person of Christ by referring to him as the Word (Greek “logos”) which means purpose
or idea. John uses this language to confirm that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God, full of grace and truth (John 1:14).
The gospel of John refers to some significant signs or miracles undertaken by the Lord Jesus Christ; miracles such as the water into wine, the healing of
the ruler’s son, the impotent man made to walk, the feeding of the five thousand, the calming of the sea, the curing of the blind man, the raising of the dead and the great harvest of fish. All of these signs
would have had great impact on the immediate observers at the time, but when study is made of these activities there is much instruction for us these days in how we should prepare ourselves before the Lord Jesus
Christ returns to the earth to establish God’s Kingdom.
