The name of the last book of the Old Testament, written by Malachi, whose name in Hebrew means "my messenger". Two themes are predominant in this prophecy.
Firstly, that of the sin and rebellion of Israel, particularly their religious leaders, and the coming judgment upon the faithless and those who sought to divorce and remarry (Ch 1 and 2). The second theme relates
to us the blessings promised for those who acknowledge their error and repent (Ch 3 & 4). Similarly to Zechariah, Malachi gives us some significant glimpses into the establishment of God’s Kingdom on
the earth when Christ returns to reign as King.
