This book, also known as the Song of Songs, is quite unique in the Bible in that it is comprised of a collection or cycle of marriage songs. Again, as
with Ecclesiastes, its authorship has been brought into question, but most commentators assign the writing of these songs to Solomon.
The main theme of the Song is educational and moral in its purpose, and typically demonstrates both God’s love for His Chosen People and
Christ’s love for His Bride, the Church or Ecclesia, therefore showing to us the inseparable permanence of the marriage state as revealed in God’s Word.
